Real Wedding at Old Red Museum in Dallas

Today is the one year anniversary of Haru and Mingyi! When I met Haru at a local coffee shop to discuss her future wedding, I was uber pregnant, y'all. Here is how it went - I met Haru, was hired, and gave birth pretty much the next day.

Let me tell you why this wedding is so special to me. This was the first wedding I booked while pregnant, and it speaks volumes to the faith that Haru and Mingyi had in me knowing that I was going to go through a life change during their engagement. The fact that they trusted me is something that I will be eternally grateful for. It was through their planning that I was able to have confidence that yeah, I'd still be able to continue through building my small business, while entering this thing called motherhood. So you KNOW that I needed this wedding to be perfect.

One of the most unique things about their wedding was that they wanted to do a mini tea ceremony within their actual ceremony to pay homage to both their Taiwanese and Japanese cultures. It was so beautifully done, and the officiant actually pulled me aside afterwards and told me it was one of the most touching things he had witnessed in all his years doing weddings.

The other most amazing and personal detail was that both Haru's mother and brother performed her ceremony music WITHOUT a rehearsal, y'all. True professionals and such a talented family.

Also, I can't go without mentioning how freaking beautiful the design of their entire wedding was down to the florals (thanks, Lizzie Bee's!) and color scheme of the BHLDN bridesmaid dresses.

Not only did they have a memorable ceremony, but they topped the reception off with equally amazing details. They had special performances from dear friends, along with a surprise choreographed group dance that included the bride and groom in front of their many accomplished guests (85% of the guest list were doctors, y'all).

To cap off the most amazing night - their sendoff consisted of helium balloons filled with LED lights. They literally lit up the sky.

Real Wedding at the Heart of the Ranch

This is Libby. This will sound crazy, but she is the most laid back, yet meticulously organized bride that you have ever met. She can make a timeline that would make any planner proud.

This is Charlie. He proposed in the middle of City Park in Colorado, and flew in their family for a surprise engagement celebration.

This is their dog, Berkley, who is part of every major milestone in their life. I mean, the floral collar. Excellent touch, no?

Now meet the bride and groom. Not only are they ridiculously good looking, the kind of relationship they have, full of humor and laughter, is ridiculously fun to be around.

Before I met Charlie, though, I met Libby's family at our consultation. Let me tell you - this family is the most welcoming and organized bunch you've ever met. They get things done!

Libby and Charlie chose to save their first look for the moment when she walked down the aisle. Instead, Libby reserved a first look for the men in her family. This photo truly showcases the love and union that I got to experience during their engagement journey.

Also, during one of our first meetings, Libby says to me "Oh, my cousin will be doing the photos." Come to find out, her cousin is THE Kat Harris. Joy to the world.

Libby and Charlie chose their venue at the Heart of the Ranch because y'all, it's a gorgeously hidden plot of land in Fort Worth. A true outdoor oasis. Setting the reception in a clear top tent and incorporating floral chandeliers and greenery courtesy of Moss Floral made the transition from ceremony so seamless.

The ceremony site is another treasure. You get to enter from this magical opening in the forest. Again - my heart soared because Charlie walked down the aisle with both parents. His family is another level of love and laughter. Libby's mother was escorted by BOTH her brothers.

OH! Another thing Libby told me in our meetings "Oh. My dad is going to build us some things for the wedding." Y'ALL. By "things" - freestanding wooden bars with marquee lights, cake stand, welcome table and a honest-to-goodness donut wall.

Spoiler alert - Libby and Charlie's celebration was filled with love and family and ended in happiness and included lots of dancing, and tears, and sparklers. The end.
